Taking flying leaps into the unknown

Is it time to wake up?

It certainly feels like any moment the guy whose life I am living will soon come and claim it back. This day has certainly been quite exceptional.

The day started at the headquarters of Startup Chile where i listened to the second round of pitches for Generation 6 SUP Chile startups. Lots of cool teams and awesome ideas. I was there to get some inspiration to improve my pitch that I am scheduled to give in San Francisco. Work is fun!

Whilst in the meeting I got a message that water in Santiago got polluted and that the city water works had to shut off the water supply….so the city is without clean water. There were trucks going around town to supply water… This is rather surreal but sort of funny.

Water shortage

Following that Diego and I had a meeting at Startup Chile with Sebastian who is the director of operations. Startup Chile is a key target user of Fundacity and we consider this client acquisition a critical success factor for Fundacity. We pitched Fundacity and his feedback was amazing and we got excellent concept validation. We now have free access to the Startup Chile work space that is used by the startups incubated by them. We will have great links with our target users.

Later that day I was at a pitching workshop organized by our incubator. I was sitting there absorbing the great advice being delivered by the consultant trying not to pay attention to the pictures being taken of us which no doubt will soon be found online…not sure what to think of all this but I am feeling pretty good J.

From the workshop I rushed across town to the offices of Corfo to meet Raul Aldunate Lyon. Before the meeting I wasn’t exactly sure who Raul was but he turned out to be none other than Director Regional Metropolitano of Corfo. Corfo is hugely important in the starutp world of Chile. The meeting was very productive and I had many interesting takeaways from it. Raul has vast amounts of experience and most importantly he is very approachable and helpful. I am thrilled to say Raul loved the project. Diego and I feel blessed.

I recently got home (8pmish) thinking wow what a day….my iphone logs onto our home wifi and an email from Argentine incubator Incutex downloads….subject title ” tengo el agrado de comunicarles que han sido preseleccionados”…..SWEET 🙂
