How Open Should a Startup CEO be with the Team?

In an effort to improve the way I approach and manage things I came across this article on CEO transparency published on the blog bothsidesofthetable. Bothsidesofthetable is one of my favorite startup related blogs. It is also one of the most recommended ones out there. If you haven’t already, I would add it to my Feedly or any other blog app you use.

I don’t want to butcher the blog by trying to take out the key points or writing my interpretation of it. However in the comments of the blog a user cited the following bit as the key takeaway, which I found interesting:

“A startup CEO’s job is to absorb stress so the team doesn’t have to. Her job is to turn up every day with enthusiasm even though her boyfriend just broke up with her, she hasn’t spoken to her best friends in weeks and she’s beginning to wonder whether this idea was really so great after all.”

Without further ado: the link to the blog on CEO Transaprency.
